What is suitable to plant near a quarry

my row of marigolds (in the Modi'in area, part in full sun, and part in partial shade, west of the cypress) is currently dormant (the leaves dried up around March).
What is suitable to plant there, which will maintain the colorful patch until the marigolds' flowering columns break? (In my garden, this happens relatively early - August)
